Intended Use
The Scian Automatic Digital Blood Pressure Monitor, Models LD-562U, LD-588U & LD-533U, are devices intended to measure the systolic and diastolic blood pressure and pulse rate of an adult individual by using a non-invasive technique in which an inflatable cuff is wrapped around the upper arm. In addition, they can detect the appearance of irregular heartbeat during measurement, and give a warning signal once the irregular heartbeat is detected.
Device Story
Scian Automatic Digital Blood Pressure Monitor (Models LD-562U, LD-588U, LD-533U) is an over-the-counter, non-invasive device for adult use. It utilizes an inflatable upper arm cuff to measure systolic/diastolic blood pressure and pulse rate. The device processes pressure oscillations to calculate hemodynamic parameters and detects irregular heartbeats, providing a warning signal to the user. It is intended for home or clinical use by the patient or healthcare provider. Output is displayed on the device screen, allowing users to monitor blood pressure trends and identify potential cardiac irregularities, facilitating informed health management.
Clinical Evidence
No clinical data provided; substantial equivalence is based on bench testing and technological comparison to predicate devices.
Technological Characteristics
Non-invasive oscillometric blood pressure monitor; upper arm cuff; digital display; electronic pressure sensor; irregular heartbeat detection algorithm; battery-powered; standalone operation.
Indications for Use
Indicated for adult individuals to measure systolic/diastolic blood pressure and pulse rate via non-invasive upper arm cuff. Detects irregular heartbeats and provides warning signals.
Regulatory Classification
Identification
A noninvasive blood pressure measurement system is a device that provides a signal from which systolic, diastolic, mean, or any combination of the three pressures can be derived through the use of tranducers placed on the surface of the body.
