The IDEAL LIFE BP-MANAGER™ should be used in adults (individuals aged 18 and older) in a non-clinical environment such as in the home. The IDEAL LIFE BP-MANAGER™ should not be used on infants or children. The end user of this device should not have common arrhythmias, such as atrial or ventricular premature beats or atrial fibrillation. This device makes no interpretation, evaluation, medical judgments or recommendations for treatment. Clinical judgment and experience are required for interpretation of information. This device is not intended as a substitute for medical care. The IDEAL LIFE POD™ is an optional accessory to the IDEAL LIFE BP-MANAGER™ and is a transmitter that is intended to transmit data obtained by the IDEAL LIFE BP-MANAGER™ to the internet via common telephone lines from the user's home setting. The IDEAL LIFE POD™ is an optional accessory designed to assist in the management of user information. This device makes no interpretation, evaluation, medical judgments or recommendations for treatment. Clinical judgment and experience are required to check or interpret information transmitted. This device is not intended as a substitute for medical care.

Device Story

BP-MANAGER™: oscillometric blood pressure monitor; measures systolic/diastolic BP and heart rate; stores up to 70 readings; displays results on integrated screen. POD™: optional wireless router accessory; transmits stored data from BP-MANAGER™ to internet via telephone lines. Used in home settings by patients; no clinical interpretation provided by device; requires physician consultation for result evaluation. Benefits: facilitates remote data management for patient health tracking.

Clinical Evidence

Performance testing conducted per 'Non-Invasive Blood Pressure (NIBP) Monitor Guidance' (1997). Includes electromagnetic compatibility, electrical safety, and performance testing in human volunteers. No specific clinical trial metrics (e.g., sensitivity/specificity) provided in summary.

Technological Characteristics

Oscillometric blood pressure measurement; software-controlled; includes blood pressure cuff; BP-MANAGER™ stores 70 readings; POD™ acts as RF transmitter/wireless router for internet connectivity via telephone lines. Class II device.

Indications for Use

Indicated for adults (18+) for non-invasive measurement of systolic/diastolic blood pressure and heart rate via oscillometric technique in home environments. Contraindicated for infants, children, and individuals with common arrhythmias (e.g., atrial/ventricular premature beats, atrial fibrillation).

Regulatory Classification

Identification

A noninvasive blood pressure measurement system is a device that provides a signal from which systolic, diastolic, mean, or any combination of the three pressures can be derived through the use of tranducers placed on the surface of the body.
