Intended Use

The Concentric Balloon Guide Catheter is indicated for use in facilitating and guidance of intravascular catheters into a selected blood vessel in the peripheral and neuro vascular systems. The balloon provides temporary vascular occlusion during these and other angiographic procedures.

Device Story

The Concentric Balloon Guide Catheter is a percutaneous, coaxial lumen, braided shaft catheter used by clinicians in interventional radiological procedures. It features a distal radiopaque marker and a flush-mounted balloon. The device is inserted into the peripheral or neurovascular system to facilitate the placement of other intravascular catheters. The balloon is inflated to provide temporary vascular occlusion during angiographic procedures. The device is a modified version of a previously cleared 9F catheter, now downsized to a 7F outer diameter and 0.059" inner diameter, incorporating Cristamid material. It functions as a mechanical guide and occlusion tool; it does not involve electronic processing or software.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Performance testing verified the device performs as designed and is suitable for its intended use.

Technological Characteristics

7F coaxial lumen braided shaft catheter; 0.059" inner diameter; distal radiopaque marker; flush-mounted balloon (max 10mm diameter/length); material: Cristamid; mechanical device; no energy source; non-software.

Indications for Use

Indicated for patients requiring intravascular catheter guidance and temporary vascular occlusion during angiographic procedures in peripheral and neurovascular systems.

Regulatory Classification

Identification
