Intended Use

SOFTXIL is intended for the augmentation or reconstruction of the nasal, malar, and or chin contour.

Device Story

SOFTXIL consists of injection-molded silicone elastomer implants designed for facial surgery. Implants are available in various pre-formed shapes and sizes for nasal, paranasal, and chin augmentation. The device is intended for use by surgeons in clinical settings. The surgeon may carve or cut the silicone material to customize the fit for individual patient anatomy. The implants provide structural support for soft tissue augmentation. The device is provided sterile, single-use, and is intended to improve facial contouring.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Testing included sterilization validation (ISO 11737-1), shelf life (ASTM F1980), biocompatibility (ISO 10993-5, -6, -10, -11; USP <51>), and performance testing (appearance, dimensions, extractables, hardness, tensile strength, elongation, and tear strength per ASTM F881).

Technological Characteristics

Material: Silicone elastomer. Form factor: Injection-molded facial implants with smooth surfaces and tapered ends. Sterilization: Ethylene oxide. Standards: ASTM F1980 (shelf life), ASTM F881 (mechanical properties), ISO 10993 series (biocompatibility), ISO 11737-1 (sterilization).

Indications for Use

Indicated for patients requiring augmentation or reconstruction of nasal, malar, or chin contours.

Regulatory Classification

Identification
