Intended Use

The SonoSurg Ultrasonic Surgical System is indicated for use in surgical procedure in neurosurgery where dissection, fragmentation, emulsification and aspiration of soft tissue are desirable. This system consists of the SonoSurg Generator (SonoSurg-G2 set), SonoSurg Irrigation Unit (SonoSurg-IU), SonoSurg Transducer (SonoSurg-T2L-MS), and SonoSurg ultrasonic surgical instruments, and is designed to be used with a separate surgical suction source. Do not use this system for any purpose other than its intended use.

Device Story

SonoSurg Ultrasonic Surgical System is an electromechanical surgical tool for neurosurgery. System components include a generator (SonoSurg-G2), irrigation unit (SonoSurg-IU), transducer (SonoSurg-T2L-MS), and ultrasonic surgical instruments. Device operates by converting electrical energy into ultrasonic vibrations at the instrument tip to dissect, fragment, and emulsify soft tissue; integrated irrigation and external suction source facilitate tissue removal. Used in clinical surgical settings by neurosurgeons. Output is mechanical tissue disruption and aspiration, allowing precise tissue removal during surgery. Benefits include controlled tissue fragmentation and aspiration, aiding surgical access and resection.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only; no clinical data required for evaluation of safety and efficacy.

Technological Characteristics

Ultrasonic surgical system; components include generator, irrigation unit, transducer, and instruments. Meets IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-1, and IEC 60601-1-2 safety standards. Patient-contacting materials verified via ISO 10993 biocompatibility testing.

Indications for Use

Indicated for neurosurgical procedures requiring dissection, fragmentation, emulsification, and aspiration of soft tissue.
