Cobalt™ V Radiopaque Vertebroplasty Bone Cement is indicated for the fixation of pathological fractures of the vertebral body due to osteoporosis, benign lesions and malignant lesions using a vertebroplasty or kyphoplasty procedure.
Device Story
Cobalt™ V Radiopaque Vertebroplasty Bone Cement consists of two pre-measured, sterilized components; mixed to form radiopaque, rapidly setting PMMA bone cement. Used by physicians in clinical settings during vertebroplasty or kyphoplasty procedures to stabilize vertebral fractures. Output is a hardened cement matrix providing structural fixation of the vertebral body. Benefits include stabilization of fractures caused by osteoporosis or lesions, potentially reducing pain and restoring vertebral integrity.
Clinical Evidence
No clinical data provided as a basis for substantial equivalence. Bench testing only.
Technological Characteristics
PMMA bone cement; radiopaque; two-component system; modified ingredient ratios compared to predicate Cobalt™ HV; manual mixing; chemical setting process.
Indications for Use
Indicated for fixation of pathological vertebral body fractures caused by osteoporosis, benign lesions, or malignant lesions in patients undergoing vertebroplasty or kyphoplasty procedures.
Regulatory Classification
Identification
