Intended Use

The Demi Ultra is a Light Emitting Diode (LED) visible light curing device used for the polymerization of light-cured materials by dental professionals.

Device Story

Demi Ultra is a cordless LED visible light curing device for dental materials. System comprises a handpiece, LED light curing attachment, and charging dock. Handpiece contains two ultracapacitors, electronics, and user interface buttons; powered by internal capacitors. Charging dock includes integrated LED radiometer to monitor output intensity. Dental professional selects curing mode (5, 10, or 20 seconds) via buttons; microprocessor controls LED output and audible timing beeps. Device requires use of FDA-cleared barrier sleeve. Output is high-intensity visible light (450-470 nm) used to polymerize dental resins. Benefits include efficient, cordless curing in clinical settings.

Clinical Evidence

No clinical data. Bench testing only: depth of cure, irradiance, peak wavelength (ISO 10650:2015, ANSI/ADA 48-2:2010), charge/run time, biocompatibility (ISO 10993), EMC/electrical safety (IEC 60601), and software validation. Cleaning validation performed per FDA reprocessing guidance.
