Intended Use

Use for most bonding needs in restorative dentistry. Peak™ Bond is formulated to work well with flowable composite for light cure luting. Ultradent recommends the PermaFlow® DC system using chemical cure PermaFlow® DC primer for chemical cure/dual core bonding (e.g., non-translucent veners, inlays, and post bonding). Peak™ Bond bonds to the following materials: Dentin and enamel Porcelain Metal Composite

Device Story

Peak™ Bond is a single-component, light-curing resin bonding agent delivered via syringe. It utilizes an ethyl alcohol solvent carrier and is 7.5% filled for radiopacity. Used by dental professionals in clinical settings for restorative dentistry, it bonds to dentin, enamel, porcelain, metal, and composite. The agent is applied to the tooth surface and cured using standard dental light-curing units. Its filler penetration into dentin tubules is intended to minimize sensitivity and prevent microleakage. It serves as a thinner version of the predicate device, facilitating bonding in both direct and indirect restorative procedures.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Comparative testing against predicate PQ1 included evaluation of intended use, description, biocompatibility (cytotoxicity), physical properties, filler percentage, ingredients, radiopacity, shrinkage, and bond strength. All results met or exceeded expectations.

Technological Characteristics

Single-component, light-curing resin bonding agent. Contains ethyl alcohol solvent carrier; 7.5% filled for radiopacity. Compatible with most dental light-curing units (excluding lasers). Syringe delivery system. No software or electronic components.

Indications for Use

Indicated for restorative dentistry bonding needs, including dentin, enamel, porcelain, metal, and composite surfaces. Formulated for light-cure luting with flowable composites. For chemical-cure or dual-cure applications (e.g., non-translucent veneers, inlays, post bonding), use of PermaFlow® DC system is recommended.

Regulatory Classification

Identification

A resin tooth bonding agent is a device material, such as methylmethacrylate, intended to be painted on the interior of a prepared cavity of a tooth to improve retention of a restoration, such as a filling.
