Indicated for use by health care professionals whenever there is a need for monitoring the physiological parameters of patients. Standard and optional parameters include: NBP, SpO2, Temperature
Device Story
Philips SureSigns VS3 and VS4 are multi-parameter patient monitors used by healthcare professionals in clinical settings. Devices measure physiological parameters including non-invasive blood pressure (NBP), oxygen saturation (SpO2), and temperature. Inputs are acquired via patient-connected sensors/cables; processed by internal algorithms; and displayed for clinician review. Output data assists healthcare providers in assessing patient status and making clinical decisions. VS4 is a new model; VS3 is a modified version of previously cleared devices. Both utilize established measurement algorithms.
Clinical Evidence
Bench testing only. Verification and validation activities included system-level tests, performance tests, and safety testing based on hazard analysis. Results demonstrated that the devices meet all reliability requirements and performance claims.
Technological Characteristics
Multi-parameter patient monitor. Measures NBP, SpO2, and temperature. Uses same algorithms as predicate devices. Class II device. Connectivity via patient cables/transducers. Software-based processing.
Indications for Use
Indicated for use by health care professionals for monitoring physiological parameters (NBP, SpO2, Temperature) in patients requiring vital signs assessment.
Regulatory Classification
Identification
A noninvasive blood pressure measurement system is a device that provides a signal from which systolic, diastolic, mean, or any combination of the three pressures can be derived through the use of tranducers placed on the surface of the body.
