Intended Use

The STA® Liatest® Control [N]+[P] kit is intended for use as control plasmas (Normal and Abnormal levels) for von Willebrand Factor (vWF) and D-dimer antigen assays by the immuno-turbidimetric method performed on STA® analyzers (Diagnostica Stago, France: STA® full-size model, K942117; STA® Compact model, K961579).

Device Story

STA®-Liatest® Control [N]+[P] kit consists of freeze-dried human plasma; provides normal and abnormal control levels for vWF and D-dimer antigen assays. Used in clinical laboratory settings on STA® analyzers (full-size and Compact models). Operates via immuno-turbidimetric method. Healthcare providers use control results to verify assay performance and ensure accuracy of patient testing. Benefits include standardized quality control for diagnostic coagulation assays.

Clinical Evidence

No clinical data provided; bench testing only.

Technological Characteristics

Freeze-dried human plasma; citrated. Formulated at normal and abnormal levels for vWF and D-dimer. Stable for 24 months at 2-8°C; 8-hour stability post-reconstitution on-board STA® analyzers.

Indications for Use

Indicated for use as normal and abnormal quality control plasmas for vWF and D-dimer antigen assays performed on STA® analyzers. No specific patient population or contraindications described.

Regulatory Classification

Identification

A multipurpose system for in vitro coagulation studies is a device consisting of one automated or semiautomated instrument and its associated reagents and controls. The system is used to perform a series of coagulation studies and coagulation factor assays.

Special Controls

*Classification.* Class II (special controls). A control intended for use with a multipurpose system for in vitro coagulation studies is exempt from the premarket notification procedures in subpart E of part 807 of this chapter subject to the limitations in § 864.9.
