Intended Use

The device is intended for use by a qualified physician for ultrasound evaluation of Fetal; Abdominal; Pediatric; Small Organ (breast, testes, thyroid); Neonatal Cephalic; Adult Cephalic; Cardiac (adult and pediatric); Peripheral Vascular; Musculo-skeletal Conventional and Superficial; Urology (including prostate); Transrectal; Transvaginal; Transesophageal and Intraoperative (abdominal, thoracic, vascular). When Pinpoint™ GT Technology, from C.R. Bard, Inc., is included with the system, the Indications for Use include: Pinpoint GT Technology is intended to provide clinicians with visual tools for passive magnetic tracking of a needle with respect to ultrasound image data.

Device Story

The LOGIQ P9/P7 is a mobile, console-based diagnostic ultrasound system for clinical use by physicians. It acquires, processes, and displays ultrasound data via various transducers. The system supports B-mode, M-mode, PW/CW Doppler, Color/Power Doppler, and harmonic imaging. New features include shear wave elastography (migrated from LOGIQ S8), HDlive, and connectivity to 'LOGIQ P Apps' for smart device integration (image capture, remote UI control). The system provides visual tools for needle tracking when using Pinpoint GT Technology. Output is displayed on a 21.5-inch LCD monitor for clinical review and decision-making. It aids in diagnostic imaging and fluid flow analysis across multiple anatomical regions, benefiting patients through non-invasive diagnostic assessment.

Clinical Evidence

No clinical studies were required to support substantial equivalence. Evidence is based on non-clinical performance testing, including acoustic output, biocompatibility, cleaning/disinfection effectiveness, and thermal, electrical, electromagnetic, and mechanical safety testing. System-level verification and validation were performed.

Technological Characteristics

Mobile console (53x74x157 cm) with 21.5-inch LCD and 10.4-inch touch screen. Employs ultrasonic pulsed Doppler/echo imaging. Supports B, M, PW/CW, Color/Power Doppler, and harmonic modes. Connectivity via DICOM and LOGIQ P Apps. Biocompatible patient-contact materials. Complies with AAMI/ANSI ES60601-1, IEC60601-1-2, IEC60601-2-37, ISO10993-1, and NEMA UD 2.

Indications for Use

Indicated for diagnostic ultrasound imaging or fluid flow analysis in fetal, abdominal, pediatric, small organ (breast, testes, thyroid), neonatal/adult cephalic, cardiac (adult/pediatric), peripheral vascular, musculoskeletal (conventional/superficial), urological (prostate), transrectal, transvaginal, transesophageal, and intraoperative (abdominal, thoracic, vascular) applications. Includes needle guidance and elastography.

Regulatory Classification

Identification

An ultrasonic pulsed doppler imaging system is a device that combines the features of continuous wave doppler-effect technology with pulsed-echo effect technology and is intended to determine stationary body tissue characteristics, such as depth or location of tissue interfaces or dynamic tissue characteristics such as velocity of blood or tissue motion. This generic type of device may include signal analysis and display equipment, patient and equipment supports, component parts, and accessories.

You may, therefore, market the device, subject to the general controls provisions of the Act. Although this letter refers to your product as a device, please be aware that some cleared products may instead be combination products. The 510(k) Premarket Notification Database located at https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cdrh/cfdocs/cfpmn/pmn.cfm identifies combination product submissions. The general controls provisions of the Act include requirements for annual registration, listing of devices, good manufacturing practice, labeling, and prohibitions against misbranding and adulteration. Please note: CDRH does not evaluate information related to contract liability warranties. We remind you, however, that device labeling must be truthful and not misleading. If your device is classified (see above) into either class II (Special Controls) or class III (PMA), it may be subject to additional controls. Existing major regulations affecting your device can be found in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21, Parts 800 to 898. In addition, FDA may publish further announcements concerning your device in the Federal Register. Please be advised that FDA's issuance of a substantial equivalence determination does not mean that FDA has made a determination that your device complies with other requirements of the Act or any Federal statutes and regulations administered by other Federal agencies. You must comply with all the Act's {1}------------------------------------------------ requirements, including, but not limited to: registration and listing (21 CFR Part 807); labeling (21 CFR Part 801); medical device reporting of medical device-related adverse events) (21 CFR 803) for devices or postmarketing safety reporting (21 CFR 4, Subpart B) for combination products (see https://www.fda.gov/CombinationProducts/GuidanceRegulatoryInformation/ucm597488.htm); good manufacturing practice requirements as set forth in the quality systems (OS) regulation (21 CFR Part 820) for devices or current good manufacturing practices (21 CFR 4, Subpart A) for combination products; and, if applicable, the electronic product radiation control provisions (Sections 531-542 of the Act); 21 CFR 1000-1050.
