Intended Use

The device is intended for use by a qualified physician for ultrasound evaluation of Fetal; Abdominal; Pediatric; Small Organ (breast, testes, thyroid); Neonatal Cephalic; Adult Cephalic; Cardiac (adult and pediatric); Peripheral Vascular; Musculo-skeletal Conventional and Superficial; Urology (including prostate); Transrectal; Transvaginal; and Intraoperative (abdominal, thoracic, vascular). When Pinpoint™ GT Technology, from C.R. Bard, Inc., is included with the system, the Indications for Use include: Pinpoint GT Technology is intended to provide clinicians with visual tools for passive magnetic tracking of a needle with respect to ultrasound image data.

Device Story

LOGIQ P9 and LOGIQ P7 are mobile, general-purpose diagnostic ultrasound systems; console-based with 21.5-inch LCD display and 10.4-inch touch screen. Systems acquire, process, and display ultrasound data for clinical evaluation. Operators are qualified physicians. Input data from various transducers; system performs digital acquisition and processing; outputs images for clinical review. Supports B-mode, M-mode, PW/CW Doppler, Color/Power Doppler, and 3D/4D imaging. Includes Pinpoint GT Technology for passive magnetic needle tracking during interventional procedures. Enhances clinical decision-making by providing real-time visualization of anatomy and needle position. Benefits include improved diagnostic accuracy and procedural guidance.

Clinical Evidence

No clinical studies were required to support substantial equivalence. Evidence is based on bench testing, including acoustic output measurements, biocompatibility, and electrical/electromagnetic safety testing, confirming the device meets applicable standards (e.g., IEC 60601-1, NEMA UD 2/3).

Technological Characteristics

Mobile console ultrasound system; 21.5-inch LCD display; 10.4-inch touch screen. Supports B, M, PW/CW Doppler, Color/Power Doppler, 3D/4D, and harmonic imaging. Biocompatible patient-contact materials. Complies with AAMI/ANSI ES60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, IEC 60601-2-37, NEMA UD 2/3, and ISO 10993-1. Connectivity via DICOM.

Indications for Use

Indicated for diagnostic ultrasound imaging or fluid flow analysis in fetal, abdominal, pediatric, small organ (breast, testes, thyroid), neonatal/adult cephalic, cardiac (adult/pediatric), peripheral vascular, musculoskeletal (conventional/superficial), urological (prostate), transrectal, transvaginal, and intraoperative (abdominal, thoracic, vascular) applications. Includes needle guidance via Pinpoint GT Technology.

Regulatory Classification

Identification

An ultrasonic pulsed doppler imaging system is a device that combines the features of continuous wave doppler-effect technology with pulsed-echo effect technology and is intended to determine stationary body tissue characteristics, such as depth or location of tissue interfaces or dynamic tissue characteristics such as velocity of blood or tissue motion. This generic type of device may include signal analysis and display equipment, patient and equipment supports, component parts, and accessories.
