Intended Use

The Alians Ulna Locking Plating System is indicated for ulnar shortening osteotomy.

Device Story

The Alians Ulna Locking Plating System consists of titanium alloy plates and screws designed for ulnar shortening osteotomy. The device is provided non-sterile and requires sterilization by healthcare professionals prior to use. It is intended for surgical fixation of the ulna. The system functions as a bone fixation appliance to stabilize the bone during the healing process following an osteotomy procedure. It is used in a clinical/surgical setting by orthopedic surgeons.

Clinical Evidence

No clinical studies were performed. Evidence is based on non-clinical bench testing, including comparative fatigue compression tests, static tests on plates, and pullout/torsional strength tests on screws.

Technological Characteristics

Materials: Titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V ELI (ASTM F 136-12a / ISO 5832-3). Form factor: Plates with multiple screw holes/slots. Sterilization: Provided non-sterile for healthcare professional sterilization. Mechanical fixation principle.

Indications for Use

Indicated for patients requiring ulnar shortening osteotomy.

Regulatory Classification

Identification

Single/multiple component metallic bone fixation appliances and accessories are devices intended to be implanted consisting of one or more metallic components and their metallic fasteners. The devices contain a plate, a nail/plate combination, or a blade/plate combination that are made of alloys, such as cobalt-chromium-molybdenum, stainless steel, and titanium, that are intended to be held in position with fasteners, such as screws and nails, or bolts, nuts, and washers. These devices are used for fixation of fractures of the proximal or distal end of long bones, such as intracapsular, intertrochanteric, intercervical, supracondylar, or condylar fractures of the femur; for fusion of a joint; or for surgical procedures that involve cutting a bone. The devices may be implanted or attached through the skin so that a pulling force (traction) may be applied to the skeletal system.
