Device Story
Flexi-Lume LED System is a multi-mode LED curing and illumination device for dental use. Input: electrical power (12VDC via AC/DC adapter). Operation: user selects lighting modes (Daylight, Fluorescent, Transdental, Bleaching, Non-Curing, Curing) via touch controls on housing; light is directed through a fiber optic gooseneck. Curing mode emits 430-490nm blue light at 1,500mW/cm2. Output: visible light for polymerization, illumination, or bleaching. Used in dental clinics by dental professionals. Output allows clinicians to harden restorative materials, visualize oral structures, or activate bleaching agents, facilitating dental restorative and cosmetic procedures.

Device Description: The Flexi-Lume LED System is classified as an Ultraviolet Activator for Polymerization (21 CFR 872.6070) because it is a device intended for the photo-polymerization of light-cured dental materials. The different lighting modes can be selected with touch controls on the housing. The touch controls also include a dimmer which allows the selection of light intensity in all modes except Curing and Bleaching, which have pre-set intensity levels.
The Flexi-Lume runs on 12VDC, powered by a certified AC/DC adapter that can be hidden inside the dental chair.
