Intended Use

The Prelude® 7F Short Sheath Introducer is intended to provide access and facilitate the percutaneous introduction of various devices into veins and/or arteries while maintaining hemostasis for a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This device can also provide access to a native or synthetic graft used for hemodialysis. The side port of the sheath allows adequate flow to perform temporary hemodialysis. The device is not indicated for long term vascular or hemodialysis access.

Prelude® 7F Short Sheath Introducer facilitates percutaneous access to veins/arteries or hemodialysis grafts; maintains hemostasis during diagnostic/therapeutic procedures. Device comprises sheath introducer with integral hemostasis valve, side port extension tubing, detachable 3-way stopcock, and compatible vessel dilator. 7F size; 11cm usable length. Used by clinicians in clinical settings. Side port enables temporary hemodialysis flow. Device provides stable access point for secondary instruments; benefits patient by enabling minimally invasive interventions.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Testing conducted per ISO 11070:1998 standard, including dimensional verification, force at break (junction between sheath and hub), and surface inspection. Results met all pre-determined acceptance criteria.

Technological Characteristics

7F sheath introducer; 11cm length. Includes integral hemostasis valve, side port extension tubing, 3-way stopcock, and vessel dilator. Sterile, single-use. Complies with ISO 11070:1998. No energy source.

Indications for Use
