Intended Use

Mini and Micro Fragments Reconstruction System - NEOFACE is intended for use in selective trauma of the midface, maxillofacial surgery, reconstructive procedures, and selective orthognathic surgery of the maxilla, mandible and chin.

Device Story

Fixation system for maxillofacial surgery; consists of implant plates and screws. Plates made of commercially pure titanium; screws made of titanium alloy. Used by surgeons in clinical settings for trauma, reconstruction, and orthognathic procedures. Provides mechanical stabilization of bone segments to facilitate healing. Surgeon selects appropriate plate/screw configuration based on anatomical site and clinical need; implants are secured to bone to maintain alignment. Benefits include restoration of skeletal structure and function in the midface and mandible.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Mechanical performance evaluated via plate bending strength (ASTM F382) and screw torsional strength, breaking angle, and axial pullout strength (ASTM F543). No clinical data provided.

Technological Characteristics

Materials: Commercially pure titanium (plates), titanium alloy (screws). Mechanical testing per ASTM F382 (plates) and ASTM F543 (screws). Designs include locking and non-locking plates and screws; self-tapping and self-drilling screw options. Sterile, single-use implants.

Indications for Use

Indicated for patients requiring fixation in selective midface trauma, maxillofacial surgery, reconstructive procedures, and selective orthognathic surgery of the maxilla, mandible, and chin.

Regulatory Classification

Identification

A bone plate is a metal device intended to stabilize fractured bone structures in the oral cavity. The bone segments are attached to the plate with screws to prevent movement of the segments.
