Intended Use
The Curative980 Diode Lasers and the delivery accessories that are used with them to deliver laser energy are intended for use in the medical specialty of dental surgery. The Curative980 Diode Lasers (and the delivery accessories that are used with them to deliver laser energy) is indicated for use in a variety of applications requiring incision, excision, ablation, vaporization, coagulation and hemostasis of soft tissue in the medical specialty of dental surgery.
Device Story
Curative980 Diode Laser is a surgical instrument for dental soft tissue procedures. System includes a main console with a 980 nm AlGaAs solid-state laser diode for treatment and a 650 nm diode for aiming; a touch-screen control panel; footswitch; and fiber-optic delivery accessories (handpieces, tips). Operated by dental professionals in clinical settings. The device delivers laser energy to the target tissue to perform incision, excision, ablation, vaporization, coagulation, or hemostasis. The healthcare provider uses the handpiece to direct the laser beam, with visual feedback provided by the aiming beam. The device enables precise soft tissue management, potentially reducing bleeding and improving healing compared to traditional methods. Accessories include fiber strippers and cleavers for maintenance.
Clinical Evidence
No clinical data provided; substantial equivalence is based on technological characteristics and intended use compared to legally marketed predicate devices.
Technological Characteristics
980 nm AlGaAs solid-state laser diode; 650 nm aiming beam; touch-screen interface; fiber-optic delivery system with reusable handpieces and disposable tips; footswitch-controlled; electrical power source; standard dental surgical laser architecture.
