Indications for Use

Grams Absorbable Surgical Gut Suture (Plain and Chromic) is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic procedures, but not for use in cardiovascular and neurological procedures.

Device Story

Absorbable sterile surgical suture; composed of purified collagen from bovine serosal layer or ovine submucosal fibrous layer of intestines. Used for soft tissue approximation and ligation; applied by surgeons in clinical settings. Supplied as single-use sterile strands, with or without needles, uncoated or coated with glycerol solution. Packaged in solution containing isopropyl alcohol, diethylethanolamine, and sodium benzoate. Provides temporary wound support during healing; degrades via enzymatic absorption.
