Device Story

RS80A is a mobile, software-controlled diagnostic ultrasound system. It acquires ultrasound data via transducers and displays it in various modes: B-mode, M-mode, Color/Power Doppler, PW/CW Spectral Doppler, Harmonic imaging, Tissue Doppler, 3D/4D imaging, and Elastoscan. Used in clinical settings by healthcare professionals for anatomical measurement and diagnostic analysis. The system provides real-time acoustic output display (mechanical/thermal indices). New features include E-Strain (lesion strain calculation), S-3D Arterial Analysis (vessel/plaque analysis), and S-Detect (lesion location/diagnosis assistance for thyroid/breast). Output is displayed on-screen for clinician review to support diagnostic decision-making. Benefits include improved visualization of anatomical structures and fluid flow, aiding in biopsy guidance and lesion characterization.

Clinical Evidence

No clinical studies were required. Substantial equivalence was supported by bench testing, phantom studies, and quantitative comparison of performance metrics (sensitivity, AUC) against predicate devices for new software features.

Mobile ultrasound system; supports linear, curved, endocavity, phased array, and static probes (1.0-20.0 MHz). Patient contact materials tested to ISO 10993-1.
