Indications for Use
The Precision 500D R&F X-ray System is intended to be used as a universal diagnostic imaging system for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations, including general R&F and pediatric examinations. The Precision 500D R&F X-ray Systems are intended for use by a auglified/trained doctor or technician on both adult and pediatric subjects for taking diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic exposures of the whole body, skull, spinal column, chest, abdomen, extremities, and other body parts. Applications can be performed with the patient sitting, standing, or lying in the prone or supine position
Device Story
Precision 500D R&F X-ray System is a universal diagnostic imaging system for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations. System components include X-ray generator, angulating table, X-ray tube, collimator, image intensifier, wall stand, overhead tube suspension, operator console, and digital archive system. Operated by physicians or technicians in clinical settings to capture diagnostic images of adult and pediatric patients. Device utilizes high-voltage 3-phase 80kW generator (Jedi 80TF2T) to produce X-ray exposures. Output images are viewed by healthcare providers to support clinical decision-making and diagnosis. Pediatric Grid-in mode provides dose reduction compared to adult modes while maintaining image quality (SNR).
Clinical Evidence
Bench testing only. Verification demonstrated minimum 35% dose reduction in Pediatric Grid-in mode (at 7.5 fps and 30 fps) compared to Adult Grid-in mode (at 30 fps) using 32cm or 40cm Image Intensifiers. Image quality maintained with maximum SNR difference of 15%.
Technological Characteristics
System includes X-ray generator, angulating table, tube, collimator, image intensifier, wall stand, and digital archive. Energy source: High Voltage Generator 3 Phase 80kW (Model Jedi 80TF2T). No patient-contact materials requiring biocompatibility. Connectivity: Digital archive system.
Indications for Use
Indicated for diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging of the whole body (skull, spine, chest, abdomen, extremities) in adult and pediatric patients. Used by qualified clinicians/technicians with patients in sitting, standing, prone, or supine positions.
Regulatory Classification
Identification
An image-intensified fluoroscopic x-ray system is a device intended to visualize anatomical structures by converting a pattern of x-radiation into a visible image through electronic amplification. This generic type of device may include signal analysis and display equipment, patient and equipment supports, component parts, and accessories.
Special Controls
*Classification.* Class II (special controls). An anthrogram tray or radiology dental tray intended for use with an image-intensified fluoroscopic x-ray system only is exempt from the premarket notification procedures in subpart E of part 807 of this chapter subject to the limitations in § 892.9. In addition, when intended as an accessory to the device described in paragraph (a) of this section, the fluoroscopic compression device is exempt from the premarket notification procedures in subpart E of part 807 of this chapter subject to the limitations in § 892.9.
