Intended Use

The DeGen Medical Hyper-C Anterior Cervical Plate system is intended for use as an aid in cervical spinal fusion and is intended for unilateral fixation. The Hyper-C Anterior Cervical Plate system is intended for anterior intervertebral screw fixation of the cervical spine at levels C2 to T1. The system is indicated for temporary stabilization of the anterior spine during the development of cervical spine fusions in patients with following indications: - Degenerative Disc Disease (as defined by neck pain of discogenic origin with degeneration of the disc confirmed by patient history and radiographic studies) - Spinal Stenosis - Trauma (i.e. fracture or dislocation) - Deformity or curvatures (including scoliosis, kyphosis, or lordosis) - Spinal Tumors - Pseudoarthrosis or failed previous fusion - Spondylolisthesis - Decompression of the spine following total or partial cervical vertebrectomy

Device Story

Hyper-C Anterior Cervical Plate System provides temporary anterior spinal stabilization during fusion. System comprises cervical plates and bone screws; allows fixed or variable angle constructs; includes self-tapping or self-drilling screw options. Used by surgeons in clinical settings to provide unilateral fixation for cervical spine pathologies. Device acts as mechanical support to maintain alignment while bone fusion develops. Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Performed static and dynamic compression testing (ASTM F1717), static torsion testing (ASTM F1717), screw strength testing (ASTM F543), and push-out testing for locking screws.

Technological Characteristics

Constructed from Titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V ELI) per ASTM F136. System includes cervical plates and bone screws for fixed or variable angle constructs. Features self-tapping or self-drilling screw options. Provided in sterile and non-sterile versions.

Indications for Use

Indicated for patients requiring cervical spinal fusion (C2-T1) for degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, trauma (fracture/dislocation), deformity (scoliosis, kyphosis, lordosis), spinal tumors, pseudoarthrosis, failed fusion, spondylolisthesis, or post-vertebrectomy decompression.

A spinal intervertebral body fixation orthosis is a device intended to be implanted made of titanium. It consists of various vertebral plates that are punched into each of a series of vertebral bodies. An eye-type screw is inserted in a hole in the center of each of the plates. A braided cable is threaded through each eye-type screw. The cable is tightened with a tension device and it is fastened or crimped at each eye-type screw. The device is used to apply force to a series of vertebrae to correct “sway back,” scoliosis (lateral curvature of the spine), or other conditions.
