Intended Use

The MEMORY METAL STAPLES (MEMOCLIP, EASYCLIP, and FOR FUSION) are indicated for hand and foot bone fragments osteotomy fixation and joint arthrodesis.

Device Story

Easy Clip is a metallic bone fixation staple used for osteotomy fixation and joint arthrodesis in hand and foot surgery. The device functions as a mechanical implant to stabilize bone fragments. It is intended for use by surgeons in a clinical or hospital setting. The device is a modification of the previously cleared Memometal Memory Staples (K070031), featuring additional sizes and design modifications. It provides mechanical support to facilitate bone healing and fusion.

Clinical Evidence

No clinical data. Bench testing only, including dimensional analysis, engineering strength analysis, static and dynamic bending tests, and corrosion testing per ASTM F2129.

Technological Characteristics

Metallic bone fixation staple. Materials and performance characteristics are equivalent to predicate K070031. Corrosion testing performed per ASTM F2129. Mechanical fixation via staple geometry.

Indications for Use

Indicated for hand and foot bone fragment osteotomy fixation and joint arthrodesis in patients requiring bone stabilization.

Regulatory Classification

Identification

Single/multiple component metallic bone fixation appliances and accessories are devices intended to be implanted consisting of one or more metallic components and their metallic fasteners. The devices contain a plate, a nail/plate combination, or a blade/plate combination that are made of alloys, such as cobalt-chromium-molybdenum, stainless steel, and titanium, that are intended to be held in position with fasteners, such as screws and nails, or bolts, nuts, and washers. These devices are used for fixation of fractures of the proximal or distal end of long bones, such as intracapsular, intertrochanteric, intercervical, supracondylar, or condylar fractures of the femur; for fusion of a joint; or for surgical procedures that involve cutting a bone. The devices may be implanted or attached through the skin so that a pulling force (traction) may be applied to the skeletal system.
