Intended Use
The StealthStation™ System is intended as an aid for precisely locating anatomical locations in either open or percutaneous procedures. The StealthStation™ System is indicated for any medical condition in which the use of stereotactic surgery may be appropriate, and where a reference to a rigid anatomical structure, such as the skull, a long bone, or vertebra, can be identified relative to a CT or MR based model of the anatomy. The StealthStation™ System with the ENT option is also indicated for intranasal or sinus use.
Device Story
StealthStation™ System is an image-guided surgical navigation platform. It uses CT or MR image data to create anatomical models, allowing surgeons to track instruments relative to rigid structures (skull, long bone, vertebra) during open or percutaneous procedures. The system provides real-time visualization of instrument position, aiding in precise anatomical localization. Used in OR settings by surgeons; output assists in surgical navigation and decision-making. This specific submission covers an update to instrument sterilization protocols, adding an additional steam autoclave cycle.
Clinical Evidence
Bench testing only; validation data provided to support the change in sterilization parameters.
Technological Characteristics
Surgical navigation system utilizing CT/MR image data for anatomical registration. System supports steam autoclave sterilization for instruments. No changes to core navigation technology or software architecture.
Indications for Use
Indicated for patients requiring stereotactic surgery where rigid anatomical structures (skull, long bone, vertebra) can be referenced to CT/MR models; includes ENT/intranasal/sinus applications.
Regulatory Classification
Identification
A stereotaxic instrument is a device consisting of a rigid frame with a calibrated guide mechanism for precisely positioning probes or other devices within a patient's brain, spinal cord, or other part of the nervous system.
