Intended Use

AESKULISA®dsDNA-G is a solid phase enzyme immunoassay with human recombinant doublestranded DNA (dsDNA) for the quantitative and qualitative detection of IgG antibodies against dsDNA in human serum. The assay is a tool in the diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and should be used in conjunction with other serological tests and clinical findings.

Device Story

AESKULISA dsDNA-G is a solid-phase enzyme immunoassay (ELISA) utilizing human recombinant double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) as the antigen. It is designed for use in clinical laboratories by trained personnel to detect IgG antibodies against dsDNA in human serum samples. The assay functions by capturing specific IgG antibodies from patient serum, which are then detected via an enzymatic reaction to provide quantitative or qualitative results. Results are intended to be used by physicians as a diagnostic aid for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in conjunction with other clinical findings and serological tests.

Clinical Evidence

No clinical data provided in the document; the submission relies on bench testing and performance validation of the immunoassay.

Technological Characteristics

Solid-phase enzyme immunoassay (ELISA). Uses human recombinant dsDNA as the antigen. Quantitative and qualitative detection of IgG antibodies. In vitro diagnostic device.

Indications for Use

Indicated for the quantitative and qualitative detection of IgG antibodies against dsDNA in human serum to aid in the diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Regulatory Classification

Identification

An antinuclear antibody immunological test system is a device that consists of the reagents used to measure by immunochemical techniques the autoimmune antibodies in serum, other body fluids, and tissues that react with cellular nuclear constituents (molecules present in the nucleus of a cell, such as ribonucleic acid, deoxyribonucleic acid, or nuclear proteins). The measurements aid in the diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus (a multisystem autoimmune disease in which antibodies attack the victim's own tissues), hepatitis (a liver disease), rheumatoid arthritis, Sjögren's syndrome (arthritis with inflammation of the eye, eyelid, and salivary glands), and systemic sclerosis (chronic hardening and shrinking of many body tissues).
