## Indications for Use

The devices models DT-02 and DT-101 are electronic clinical thermometer intended to measure the human body temperature in regular mode orally, rectally or under the arm, the devices are reusable for clinical or home use on people of all ages. The device model NT-01 is an electronic clinical thermometer with pacifier probe head intended to measure oral temperature. The device is reusable for clinical or home use for children under the age of four.

## Device Story

Electronic clinical thermometers (DT-101, DT-02, NT-01) measure human body temperature. DT-101/DT-02 utilize standard probe for oral, rectal, or axillary sites; NT-01 utilizes pacifier-shaped probe for oral use in young children. Devices are reusable, intended for home or clinical environments. Operation involves placing probe at measurement site; internal sensors detect thermal changes; digital display provides temperature reading to user/clinician. Facilitates monitoring of body temperature for health assessment.

## Clinical Evidence

No clinical data provided; bench testing only.

## Technological Characteristics

Electronic clinical thermometers. Models DT-101 and DT-02 feature standard probe design; Model NT-01 features pacifier-shaped probe. Powered by internal battery. Digital display output. Reusable design.

## Regulatory Identification

A clinical electronic thermometer is a device used to measure the body temperature of a patient by means of a transducer coupled with an electronic signal amplification, conditioning, and display unit. The transducer may be in a detachable probe with or without a disposable cover.

## Special Controls

(1) Device is not a clinical thermometer with telethermographic functions;
(2) Device is not a clinical thermometer with continuous temperature measurement functions; and
(3) Appropriate analysis and testing (such as that outlined in the currently FDA-recognized editions, as appropriate, of ISO 80601-2-56, “Medical electrical equipment—Part 2-56: Particular requirements for basic safety and essential performance of clinical thermometers for body temperature measurement,” or ASTM E1965, “Standard Specification for Infrared Thermometers for Intermittent Determination of Patient Temperature,” or ASTM E1112, “Standard Specification for Electronic Thermometer for Intermittent Determination of Patient Temperature,” or ASTM E1104, “Standard Specification for Clinical Thermometer Probe Covers and Sheaths”) must validate specifications and performance of the device.
