Device Story

Rüsch SoftSimplastic Foley Catheters are sterile, single-use, short-term (up to 30 days) indwelling balloon catheters. Device consists of a transparent PVC shaft (2 or 3 lumen) with a distal latex retaining balloon, proximal funnel, inflation valve, and radiopaque contrast stripe. Available in 14-24 Fr sizes with Couvelaire or Coudé/Mercier tips. Used in clinical settings for transurethral bladder drainage or irrigation. Operated by healthcare professionals. Device is inserted transurethrally; balloon is inflated to retain catheter in bladder. Output is continuous urine drainage or irrigation fluid flow. Subject device is MR Conditional, allowing use in MRI environments under specified conditions.
