Intended Use

The Mentor ObTape Trans-obturator Surgical Kit consists of an implantable, suburethral support tape and introducers. Device Story

Mentor ObTape Trans-obturator Surgical Kit comprises non-woven polypropylene fiber suburethral tape and sterile, disposable introducer needles (flat curved and helical). Device used by surgeons in clinical settings for implantation to provide suburethral support. Tape structure facilitates tissue colonization and provides traction resistance. Introducers used to position tape during surgical procedure. Output is physical support for urethra to treat SUI. Benefits include correction of urinary incontinence.

Bench testing only. Mechanical performance testing of introducers and biocompatibility testing performed.

Mechanical testing of the sterile introducers showed that the introducers met all established criteria for mechanical performance.
