Device Story

Unicem Aplicap/Maxicap is a dual-curing, self-adhesive resin cement system. It is supplied in single-dose capsules for direct application by dental professionals. The material eliminates the need for separate tooth bonding or conditioning steps. It is used for permanent cementation of ceramic, composite, or metal restorations, including Maryland bridges, posts, screws, and implant abutments. The cement contains bifunctional (meth)acrylate and releases fluoride ions. It is applied by the clinician in a dental office setting to secure restorations to prepared tooth structures or implant abutments, providing a stable, long-term bond.

Clinical Evidence

No clinical data provided. Safety and effectiveness supported by biocompatibility testing and performance comparisons to predicate devices.

Technological Characteristics

Dual-curing, self-adhesive resin cement. Contains bifunctional (meth)acrylate. Fluoride-releasing. Delivered via single-dose capsules. No external energy source required for curing (chemical/light-cured).

Indications for Use

Indicated for permanent cementation of indirect dental restorations (inlays, onlays, crowns, bridges, Maryland bridges, posts, screws) and implant abutments. Contraindicated for patients with bruxism or periodontitis.
