## Indications for Use

Patient Monitors, M8500, are intended to be used for monitoring, displaying, reviewing, storing and alarming of multiple physiological parameters including ECG, Heart Rate (HR), Respiration Rate (RESP), Pulse Oxygen Saturation (SpO2), Pulse Rate (PR), Non-invasive Blood Pressure (NIBP), carbon dioxide (CO2), and Temperature (TEMP) of adult, pediatric and neonatal patient. The monitors are to be used in healthcare facilities by clinical physicians or appropriate medical staff under the direction of physicians. They are not intended for helicopter transport or hospital ambulance.

## Device Story

Patient Monitor M8500 is a multi-parameter physiological monitor for use in healthcare facilities by medical staff. It accepts inputs for ECG, HR, RESP, SpO2, PR, NIBP, CO2, and temperature. The device processes these signals to display real-time data, store events, and trigger audio/visual alarms when parameters exceed pre-set limits. It operates on AC or DC power. Clinicians use the monitor to observe patient status and respond to alarms, facilitating clinical decision-making through continuous monitoring and data review. It benefits patients by providing timely alerts regarding physiological changes.

## Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. No clinical data provided.

## Technological Characteristics

Multi-parameter patient monitor; AC/DC power; visual and audio alarm system; data storage and replay functionality. Parameters: ECG, HR, RESP, SpO2, PR, NIBP, CO2, TEMP. Intended for adult, pediatric, and neonatal use.

## Regulatory Identification

The arrhythmia detector and alarm device monitors an electrocardiogram and is designed to produce a visible or audible signal or alarm when atrial or ventricular arrhythmia, such as premature contraction or ventricular fibrillation, occurs.

## Special Controls

*Classification.* Class II (special controls). The guidance document entitled “Class II Special Controls Guidance Document: Arrhythmia Detector and Alarm” will serve as the special control. See § 870.1 for the availability of this guidance document.

## Predicate Devices

- M9000 Patient Monitor ([K100046](/device/K100046.md))
