Device Story

Nanopia Wide Range CRP Reagent is a turbidimetric immunoassay for quantitative measurement of C-Reactive Protein (CRP) in serum or plasma. Device consists of two liquid reagents: buffer solution and latex beads coated with mouse monoclonal anti-human CRP antibodies. Used on clinical chemistry analyzers (e.g., Roche Hitachi 917) in clinical laboratory settings. Principle of operation: sample mixed with buffer and antibody-coated beads; CRP binds beads causing agglutination; light scattering measured is proportional to CRP concentration. Output is CRP concentration (mg/L). Results assist clinicians in evaluating inflammatory lesions and monitoring treatment. Increases in CRP are non-specific; must be interpreted with complete clinical history.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Precision evaluated per CLSI EP5-A (within-run %CV 0.61–1.83%). Linearity established 0.1–400 mg/L. Limit of quantitation 0.024 mg/L. Interference testing showed <3% change with bilirubin, hemoglobin, lipids, ascorbic acid, and rheumatoid factor. Method comparison with predicate (N=98) yielded R2=0.9992; low-range correlation (N=71) yielded R2=0.9981. Matrix comparison (serum vs plasma) showed high recovery (96.4–105.7%).
