Intended Use
The SmartPReP2 Centrifuge System is intended to be used in the clinical laboratory or intraoperatively at point-of-care for the safe and rapid preparation of platelet poor plasma and platelet concentrate from a small sample of blood and for preparation of a cell concentrate from bone marrow.
Device Story
SmartPReP2 Centrifuge System is a table-top, self-decanting swinging bucket centrifuge; used in clinical laboratories or intraoperatively at point-of-care. Device processes blood samples or bone marrow aspirate using a dedicated Bone Marrow Procedure Pack and Process Disposable. Centrifugation separates blood/marrow components to produce platelet poor plasma, platelet concentrate, or bone marrow cell concentrate. System operated by clinical staff to prepare autologous concentrates for clinical use. Benefits include rapid, safe preparation of cellular concentrates from small patient samples.
Clinical Evidence
Bench testing only. Biocompatibility and performance testing established the system is suitable for the intended use.
Technological Characteristics
Table-top, self-decanting swinging bucket centrifuge. Includes Bone Marrow Procedure Pack and Process Disposable. Mechanical separation principle. No software or electronic algorithm described.
Indications for Use
Indicated for clinical laboratory or intraoperative point-of-care preparation of platelet poor plasma, platelet concentrate from blood, and cell concentrate from bone marrow aspirate.
Regulatory Classification
Identification
