## Indications for Use

The SYNCHRON Systems Lipase (LIPA) Reagent, in conjunction with SYCNHRON Systems Lipase Calibrator, is intended for use in the quantitative determination of pancreatic lipase activity in serum or plasma samples. This assay is designed for use with clinical chemistry analyzers from Beckman Instruments, such as the SYCNRHON CX and LX Clinical Systems.

## Device Story

Reagent kit for quantitative determination of pancreatic lipase activity in serum or plasma; used with Beckman SYNCHRON CX and LX clinical chemistry analyzers. System measures lipase activity via chemical reaction; incorporates ORDAC (over range detection and correction) feature to expand measuring range up to 1200 U/L. Operated by laboratory personnel in clinical settings. Output provides numerical lipase activity values; assists clinicians in diagnosing and monitoring pancreatic conditions like acute pancreatitis and duct obstruction.

## Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Method comparison study (n=91) between LX and CX systems showed slope 1.068, intercept -0.42 U/L, and r=0.997. Linearity established from 5-600 U/L (default) and 480-1200 U/L (with ORDAC). Imprecision studies (n=80) demonstrated within-run CVs of 1.38-7.18% and total CVs of 2.24-9.77% across three levels.

## Technological Characteristics

In vitro diagnostic reagent for lipase activity measurement. Utilizes enzymatic chemical reaction. Compatible with automated clinical chemistry analyzers (SYNCHRON CX/LX). Features ORDAC (over range detection and correction) for extended measuring range (up to 1200 U/L).

## Regulatory Identification

A lipase test system is a device intended to measure the activity of the enzymes lipase in serum. Lipase measurements are used in diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the pancreas such as acute pancreatitis and obstruction of the pancreatic duct.
