Intended Use

The HiSpeed NX/i CT system and HiSpeed options are intended for head and whole body x-ray computed tomography applications.

Device Story

The HiSpeed NX/i CT system is a head and whole body X-ray computed tomography scanner. It consists of a gantry, patient support, operator console, and computer. The system utilizes a solid-state detector to capture X-ray data, which is processed by the computer to generate diagnostic images. It is intended for use in clinical settings by trained healthcare professionals. The device provides clinicians with cross-sectional images to assist in diagnostic decision-making. It incorporates software options for enhanced visualization and scoring. The system is designed to perform similarly to existing CT scanners, offering equivalent diagnostic capabilities for patient imaging.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. The device underwent system verification and validation to ensure performance meets specifications, regulatory requirements, and user requirements. Adherence to industry and international standards (UL/IEC/CSA) was used to control potential electrical, mechanical, fire, and radiation hazards.

Technological Characteristics

Head and whole body CT scanner; solid-state detector; gantry, patient support, and operator console architecture. Materials compliant with 21 CFR Subchapter J and IEC 60601-1. Energy source: X-ray. Connectivity: Operator console interface. Software options include SmartView and SmartScore.

Indications for Use

Indicated for head and whole body x-ray computed tomography applications in patients requiring diagnostic imaging.

Regulatory Classification

Identification
