Intended Use

The PTW T10004 MULTIDOS as a stand alone dosemeter is intended to be used to measure the dose delivered to a patient during a radiation therapy treatment. Dose measurements during treatment may be accomplished by using suitable ionization chambers or solid state detectors. Data acquired by MULTIDOS is used to compare and to verify treatment dose to prescribed dose. The PTW T42007 QC6PLUS cable connects to MULTIDOS and is intended to be used to measure the beam characteristics of radiation therapy freatment machines. Data acquired with the MULTIDOS and the QC6PLUS is used to compile radiation beam data over time as part of a quality assurance program.

Device Story

MULTIDOS (T10004) is a multi-channel electrometer measuring dose, dose rate, charge, and current for photons/electrons; used with ionization chambers or solid-state detectors. QC6PLUS (T42007) is a therapy beam evaluation system consisting of 6 or 10 ionization chambers embedded in a 5 cm PMMA slab; connects to MULTIDOS to monitor beam parameters. Used in clinical radiation therapy settings by medical physicists/technicians to verify treatment dose against prescription and compile longitudinal beam data for quality assurance. Provides accurate, precise dosimetry data to ensure therapeutic radiation delivery; enables routine monitoring and documentation of machine performance.

Clinical Evidence

No clinical data; bench testing only.

Technological Characteristics

Electrometer (MULTIDOS) and ionization chamber array (QC6PLUS). QC6PLUS utilizes 0.54 cm³ ionization chambers embedded in 5 cm thick PMMA slab. Configurable for 2, 6, or 12 channels. Measures dose, dose rate, charge, current, flatness, symmetry, and energy stability. Standalone or connected system.

Indications for Use

Indicated for use in radiation therapy environments to measure patient dose during treatment and to monitor beam characteristics (flatness, symmetry, energy stability, central beam dose) of radiation therapy treatment machines for quality assurance purposes.

Regulatory Classification

Identification
