## Device Story

Core-it Dual is a dual-cured composite resin used by dental professionals for core build-ups and various restorative applications. The material is applied to the tooth structure or used in conjunction with pins, posts, or splinting materials (wires, Kevlar, Ribbond). It functions as a structural build-up or luting agent, providing radiopacity and compressive strength. The dual-cure mechanism allows for polymerization via light-curing or chemical setting. The device is used in a clinical dental setting; the clinician applies the material to restore tooth structure or stabilize dental components. The output is a hardened resin structure that replaces or reinforces tooth material, facilitating subsequent restorative procedures or stabilizing dental appliances. Benefits include improved structural integrity for teeth requiring crowns or bridges and versatility in various restorative and prosthetic workflows.

## Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Performance metrics evaluated include sensitivity to ambient light, color stability, working/setting time, flexural strength, water sorption, solubility, radiopacity, depth of cure, compressive strength, and polymerization shrinkage. Results demonstrate compliance with ISO 4049 and performance comparable or superior to the predicate device.

## Technological Characteristics

Dual-cured composite resin; radiopaque. Materials and properties conform to ISO 4049. Available in multiple shades (Yellow, Blue, White). Mechanical properties include high compressive strength and controlled polymerization shrinkage. No software or electronic components.

## Regulatory Identification

Tooth shade resin material is a device composed of materials such as bisphenol-A glycidyl methacrylate (Bis-GMA) intended to restore carious lesions or structural defects in teeth.
