Device Story

Tetric plus Fill and Tetric plus Flow are light-curing, radiopaque composite resins used by dentists for direct restorative dental procedures. The devices are applied to prepared cavities following standard adhesive techniques, including shade determination, isolation, and conditioning. Tetric plus Fill is a sculptable composite for general restorations; Tetric plus Flow is a flowable composite for liners, small restorations, and fissure sealing. Both utilize an advanced chameleon effect, achieved through an adapted chemical recipe, to match VITA classical shades using only four available shades. The devices are polymerized using dental curing lights. Clinical benefits include restoration of tooth structure and aesthetics. The devices are intended for professional use in a clinical setting.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Performance evaluated per ISO 4049:2019 and FDA guidance for dental composite resins. Metrics included sensitivity to ambient light, depth of cure (≥ 1.5 mm), Vickers hardness, flexural strength, water sorption, solubility, and radiopacity. Biocompatibility assessed per ISO 10993, ISO 7405, and ISO 21726:2019; no significant cytotoxic, genotoxic, or toxicological risks identified.

Technological Characteristics

Light-curing, radiopaque composite resin. Materials comply with ISO 4049:2019. Available as syringes or cavifills. Polymerization via dental curing light. No sterilization required (consumable).

Indications for Use

Indicated for patients requiring dental restoration of missing tooth structure in anterior and posterior teeth, including permanent and deciduous dentition, reconstructive build-ups, repair of existing composite/ceramic restorations, direct veneers, liner placement, fissure sealing, and sealing of implant screw channels. Contraindicated in patients with known allergies to ingredients or where a dry working field cannot be established.

The biological evaluation was performed based on toxicological data on relevant component materials / compounds, information on prior use of relevant component materials / compounds, data from biological tests, data on the history of clinical use or human exposure. Based on the information included in the biological evaluation reports it can be concluded that the products under evaluation are acceptable in relation to its clinical benefit.
