This device is indicated for use as a veneering material for fixed prosthesis in crowns and bridges. It is used for external staining and glazing in prosthetic dentistry by forming a porcelain veneer on to a ceramic substructure.
Device Story
Eternal Art Porcelain Powders are dental veneering materials used for color staining and glazing of zirconia or glass-ceramic restorations. The system consists of three components: porcelain powder, blending liquid, and pre-mixed stain/glaze paste. Dental technicians apply the material to the ceramic substructure to form a veneer. The device is used in a dental laboratory setting by trained technicians. The output is a finished porcelain veneer that provides aesthetic color and surface glazing to the dental prosthesis. The device benefits patients by improving the aesthetic appearance and surface finish of crowns and bridges.
Clinical Evidence
No clinical data. Bench testing performed according to ISO 6872:2024 (uniformity, radioactivity, flexural strength, chemical solubility, thermal expansion, glass transition temperature) and biocompatibility testing (cytotoxicity, skin sensitization, irritation, acute/subchronic systemic toxicity, genotoxicity) per ISO 10993 and ISO 7405. Results demonstrate substantial equivalence to the predicate.
Technological Characteristics
Type I ceramic material per ISO 6872:2024. Composed of glass powder (powder) and purified water/organic solvents (liquid). Non-sterile. Physical forms include powder, liquid, and pre-mixed paste. Performance characteristics include flexural strength, chemical solubility, and thermal expansion coefficient compliance with ISO 6872:2024.
Indications for Use
Indicated for use as a veneering material for fixed prosthesis in crowns and bridges, specifically for external staining and glazing of ceramic substructures in prosthetic dentistry.
Regulatory Classification
Identification
Porcelain powder for clinical use is a device consisting of a mixture of kaolin, felspar, quartz, or other substances intended for use in the production of artificial teeth in fixed or removable dentures, of jacket crowns, facings, and veneers. The device is used in prosthetic dentistry by heating the powder mixture to a high temperature in an oven to produce a hard prosthesis with a glass-like finish.

Dear Zheng Maggie:
We have reviewed your section 510(k) premarket notification of intent to market the device referenced above and have determined the device is substantially equivalent (for the indications for use stated in the enclosure) to legally marketed predicate devices marketed in interstate commerce prior to May 28, 1976, the enactment date of the Medical Device Amendments, or to devices that have been reclassified in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (the Act) that do not require approval of a premarket approval application (PMA). You may, therefore, market the device, subject to the general controls provisions of the Act. Although this letter refers to your product as a device, please be aware that some cleared products may instead be combination products. The 510(k) Premarket Notification Database available at https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cdrh/cfdocs/cfpmn/pmn.cfm identifies combination product submissions. The general controls provisions of the Act include requirements for annual registration, listing of devices, good manufacturing practice, labeling, and prohibitions against misbranding and adulteration. Please note: CDRH does not evaluate information related to contract liability warranties. We remind you, however, that device labeling must be truthful and not misleading.
If your device is classified (see above) into either class II (Special Controls) or class III (PMA), it may be subject to additional controls. Existing major regulations affecting your device can be found in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21, Parts 800 to 898.
