## Device Description Summary

21 CFR 807.92(a)(4)

LT Antibacterial foam with Silver Dressing is an advanced wound care dressing and is available in two configurations: with or without a polyurethane film backing. Multiple sizes are available to accommodate various wound dimensions.

The porous structure provides rapid absorption and retention of wound exudate, helping to maintain an optimal moisture balance. The activated carbon incorporated in the foam absorbs wound odor. Upon contact with wound fluid, the silver inhibits bacterial growth within the dressing. The soft, elastic foam conforms to wound contours.

The presence of silver can provide 4-log antibacterial activity for up to 7 days within the dressing against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, such as Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus epidermidis, Enterococcus faecium and Staphylococcus aureus.

## Intended Use/Indications for Use

21 CFR 807.92(a)(5)

LT Antibacterial Foam with Silver Dressing is indicated for management acute and chronic wounds with moderate to heavy exudate, including stage II, III and IV pressure ulcers, leg ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers. The dressing can also be used for partial thickness burns (including first- and superficial second-degree burns), donor sites, post operative wounds and skin abrasions.

LT Antibacterial Foam with Silver Dressing is intended for external use only.

{5}

# Indications for Use Comparison

21 CFR 807.92(a)(5)

The subject device has the following indications for use, which are similar to those of the predicate device (Biatain Foam Silver, K100218):Indications for Use:LT Antibacterial Foam with Silver Dressing is indicated for management acute and chronic wounds with moderate to heavy exudate, including stage II, III and IV pressure ulcers, leg ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers. The dressing can also be used for partial thickness burns (including first- and superficial second-degree burns), donor sites, post operative wounds and skin abrasions. The device is intended for external use only.

# Technological Comparison

21 CFR 807.92(a)(6)

Both devices share similar indications for use, fundamental scientific technology, major materials composition, and performance characteristics.

Indications for Use: Both the subject and predicate devices are indicated for the management of moderate to heavily exuding acute and chronic wounds, including pressure ulcers (Stage II, III, and IV), leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, donor sites, postoperative wounds, skin abrasions, and partial-thickness burns. Both devices are intended for external use only and provide antimicrobial activity within the dressing.

Technological Characteristics: The subject device is composed of Polyurethane film and silver-impregnated polyurethane foam with activated carbon for odor control, and the predicate consists of PU film and silver-impregnated PU foam. Both devices utilize the same antimicrobial agent (silver), and the same base material (polyurethane foam). The subject device is available in two configurations—with and without polyurethane film backing—to accommodate different wound types, identical to the predicate device's product line. The configuration with film backing provides a semi-permeable barrier to prevent exudate strike through. These design features and clinical applications are identical to those of the predicate device.

The minor difference in material composition, specifically the inclusion of activated carbon, does not impact the foam's ability to absorb wound exudate or the antibacterial activity of silver within the dressing. Activated carbon is a well-established safe material with a history of safe use in wound dressings, where it is commonly incorporated for wound odor management.

Performance Characteristics: Comparative performance testing demonstrates that the subject device performs equivalently to the predicate device across all critical performance parameters, including absorption capacity, fluid retention under pressure, silver elution rate, antimicrobial efficacy, and tensile strength.

Biocompatibility evaluation: The biocompatibility evaluation for the LT Antibacterial Foam Dressing with Silver was conducted in accordance with the FDA Guidance "Use of International Standard ISO 10993-1, 'Biological evaluation of medical devices-part1: Evaluation and testing within a risk management process'", both devices are categorized as prolonged contact with breached/ compromised skin.

Sterility: Both devices are terminally sterilized using gamma irradiation in accordance with ISO 11137. The devices are packaged in sealed pouches that maintain sterility throughout the labeled shelf life.

The LT Antibacterial Foam with Silver Dressing is substantially equivalent to the predicate device Biatain Foam Silver (K100218) based on similar indications for use, the similar fundamental scientific technology, comparable materials composition, equivalent performance characteristics, and similar biocompatibility profiles. The minor differences in material composition and sizes do not alter the device's fundamental technological characteristics or raise different questions of safety and effectiveness. Therefore, the subject device is substantially equivalent to the predicate device and is as safe and effective as the legally marketed predicate for its intended use.
