Intended Use

CyClean Cord is knitted retraction cord made from 100% lyocell, impregnated with Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate for the temporary gingival retraction and hemostasis of the gingival margin.

Device Story

CyClean Cord is a knitted retraction cord composed of 100% lyocell fibers impregnated with Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate. It is used by dental professionals in a clinical setting to temporarily retract gingival tissue and provide hemostasis at the gingival margin prior to taking dental impressions. The cord is placed into the gingival sulcus to absorb blood, saliva, and gingival fluid, facilitating clear visualization and accurate impression taking. The device is non-sterile and intended for short-term contact (3 minutes).

Clinical Evidence

No clinical data. Evidence consists of bench testing and biocompatibility testing. Bench testing included appearance, size, packaging, and content analysis of Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate. Biocompatibility testing performed per ISO 10993 standards included Cytotoxicity (ISO 10993-5), Skin Sensitization (ISO 10993-10), Skin Irritation (ISO 10993-23), and Acute Systemic Toxicity (ISO 10993-11).

Technological Characteristics

Knitted retraction cord made of 100% lyocell fibers impregnated with Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate. Available in various thicknesses (0.51mm to 1.10mm). Non-sterile. Biocompatible per ISO 10993-1. Storage: 1-35°C in dry, dark conditions. Shelf life: 3 years.

Indications for Use

Indicated for temporary gingival retraction and hemostasis of the gingival margin in patients requiring dental impressions.
