Intended Use

One-Stop is intended for the temporary retraction and hemostasis of the gingival margin during dental procedures such as, but not limited to, taking an impression, cementation, and cavity preparation.

Device Story

One-Stop is a topical paste-type agent used by dental professionals to facilitate gingival retraction and hemostasis. The paste contains aluminum chloride as an astringent. It is applied to the gingival margin via a syringe with a disposable tip; left in place for 2-3 minutes; then removed by rinsing with water. The paste consistency allows for controlled placement in the target area. By providing temporary retraction and controlling bleeding, the device improves visibility and access for procedures like impressions, cementation, and cavity preparation, ultimately supporting clinical accuracy and patient outcomes.

Clinical Evidence

No clinical data. Evidence consists of non-clinical bench testing including appearance, weight, packaging, pH, and flow (per ISO 6876). Biocompatibility testing performed per ISO 10993-1, including ISO 10993-5 (in vitro cytotoxicity), ISO 10993-10 (skin sensitization), and pH testing as a surrogate for irritation (ISO 10993-23).

Technological Characteristics

Topical paste containing aluminum chloride-hexahydrate, propylene glycol, and water. Delivered via syringe with disposable tip. pH 0.7; flow 11 mm. Limited exposure (<24 hours). Biocompatible. Non-electronic, non-powered.

Indications for Use

Indicated for temporary gingival margin retraction and hemostasis during dental procedures (e.g., impressions, cementation, cavity preparation) in patients requiring such dental care.

You may, therefore, market the device, subject to the general controls provisions of the Act. Although this letter refers to your product as a device, please be aware that some cleared products may instead be combination products. The 510(k) Premarket Notification Database available at https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cdrh/cfdocs/cfpmn/pmn.cfm identifies combination product submissions. The general controls provisions of the Act include requirements for annual registration, listing of devices, good manufacturing practice, labeling, and prohibitions against misbranding and adulteration. Please note: CDRH does not evaluate information related to contract liability warranties. We remind you, however, that device labeling must be truthful and not misleading. If your device is classified (see above) into either class II (Special Controls) or class III (PMA), it may be subject to additional controls. Existing major regulations affecting your device can be found in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21, Parts 800 to 898.
