We have reviewed your section 510(k) premarket notification of intent to market the device referenced above and have determined the device is substantially equivalent (for the indications for use stated in the enclosure) to legally marketed predicate devices marketed in interstate commerce prior to May 28, 1976, the enactment date of the Medical Device Amendments, or to devices that have been reclassified in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (the Act) that do not require approval of a premarket approval application (PMA). You may, therefore, market the device, subject to the general controls provisions of the Act. Although this letter refers to your product as a device, please be aware that some cleared products may instead be combination products. The GEN 4 JOY Wheelchair is substantially equivalent in design, materials, and intended use to GEN_3 Mechanical Wheelchair. The indications for use for the GEN 4 JOY and the GEN_3 mechanical wheelchairs are identical. The size ranges for the GEN 4 JOY in terms of frame width, seat depth, back depths, chair weight and weight limit overlap those of the GEN_3. The GEN 4 JOY is provided in 6 sizes compared to 4 sizes for the GEN_3. All other features are identical with the exception that the wheels for the GEN 4 JOY are quick-release. The materials used in the seat, backrest, fire retardant upholstery, and wheel locks are also identical between the GEN 4 JOY and the GEN_3. The fundamental technology used in the GEN 4 JOY chairs is identical to that of the GEN_3. The information provided supports a substantial equivalence decision based on the repeat non-clinical testing of the static, impact and fatigue strengths. Any differences in features to the predicate do not affect the performance of the device and do not raise new types of safety or effectiveness questions.

The ISO tests were conducted with methods that met the following standards:

### Biocompatibility
The biocompatibility of the subject device is based on the use of low-biocompatibility risk materials and supporting information in accordance with Attachment G of FDA's 2023 Biocompatibility Guidance, and cytotoxicity, sensitization, and irritation testing per ISO 10993-5:2009, ISO 10993-10:2021, and 10993-23:2021, respectively.
Clinical tests are Not Applicable.
The non-clinical test results demonstrate the GEN 4 JOY Wheelchair does not raise any different questions of safety and effectiveness. The GEN 4 JOY, like the predicate, meets the ISO Standard 7176 for wheelchairs. The testing supports a determination of substantial equivalence between the GEN 4 JOY Wheelchair and predicate device.
