Intended Use

Endobronchial Blocker Tube (EBT) isolates left or right lung for one-lung ventilation/anesthesia. Used in hospital OR/ICU settings by clinicians. Device consists of a tube with an angled tip for bronchial navigation and an inflatable cuff to occlude the target airway. Some models include an auto-inflator. Clinician inserts device, often alongside an endotracheal tube, and positions the cuff under fibroscope guidance and auscultation. Suction port allows aspiration of secretions. By isolating one lung, the device facilitates surgical access to the thoracic cavity while maintaining ventilation in the contralateral lung. Benefits include avoiding re-intubation compared to double-lumen tubes and enabling precise lung collapse.
