Device Story

AirSurgN Insufflator is a microprocessor-based CO2 insufflator used in hospital settings for laparoscopic surgery. It manages pneumoperitoneum by filling the abdominal cavity with CO2 gas and provides surgical smoke evacuation. The device consists of pneumatic valves, a vacuum pump, and pressure sensors. A physician or surgical staff operates the device via an LCD touchscreen GUI to select pressure and flow rates. A feedback control loop maintains the pneumoperitoneum. The vacuum function for smoke evacuation is manually activated by the user for a fixed duration before automatic shut-off.
