Device Story

Vista BC Putty is a hydraulic, ready-to-use injectable bioceramic paste for permanent root canal repair and endodontic applications. The device is supplied in a pre-loaded syringe and is intended for use by dental clinicians in endodontic offices. The material is composed of calcium sodium phosphosilicate and calcium aluminate cement. Upon placement into the root canal, the putty absorbs moisture from surrounding tissues to initiate a setting reaction, hardening into an insoluble, radiopaque structure. This process seals the root canal or repair site. The device does not shrink appreciably during setting. By providing a stable, biocompatible seal, the putty supports healing in cases of perforation, resorption, or pulp exposure, and facilitates root end filling and apexification.

Clinical Evidence

No clinical data. Substantial equivalence is supported by bench testing, including ISO 6876 protocols (set time, film thickness, solubility, disintegration, radiopacity), shelf-life testing, transit testing, antimicrobial property evaluation, and cytotoxicity testing.
