THE Graft Collagen is a bone grafting material composed of 85% porcine-derived cancellous bone mineral matrix and 15% porcine tendon-derived Type I collagen. The device acts as a scaffold for new bone formation; collagen provides structural integrity and handling characteristics, allowing the material to be trimmed or molded to fit various defect shapes. Used by dental clinicians in clinical settings for alveolar ridge preservation. The device is supplied sterile via gamma irradiation. Clinical benefit includes facilitating bone augmentation and defect filling. The healthcare provider implants the material into the defect site to support bone regeneration.
Clinical Evidence
No clinical trials were conducted. Evidence consists of bench testing (physicochemical properties, Ca/P ratio, compressive strength), biocompatibility (ISO 10993 series), sterilization validation (ISO 11137, SAL 10^-6), and animal origin controls (ISO 22442). In-vivo performance was evaluated in a beagle mandibular intraoral model comparing the subject device to the primary predicate via histology, histomorphometry, and Micro-CT at 4, 8, 12, 16, and 24 weeks, demonstrating substantial equivalence.

Special Controls
*Classification.* (1) Class II (special controls) for bone grafting materials that do not contain a drug that is a therapeutic biologic. The special control is FDA's “Class II Special Controls Guidance Document: Dental Bone Grafting Material Devices.” (See § 872.1(e) for the availability of this guidance document.)(2) Class III (premarket approval) for bone grafting materials that contain a drug that is a therapeutic biologic. Bone grafting materials that contain a drug that is a therapeutic biologic, such as biological response modifiers, require premarket approval.

THE Graft Collagen, composed of porcine derived bone mineral matrix from cancellous bone and Type I Collagen from porcine tendon. The bone mineral matrix is similar to physical and chemical aspects of the mineralized matrix of human bone. Hydrated collagen components have viscosity that facilitates for blending of the bone mineral matrix. With this characterization, it can be trimmed and/or molded to the various shapes of defects. THE Graft Collagen is sterilized using gamma irradiation and recommended for the patient who needs filling of bone defects and bone augmentation.

Exact results match the literal phrase — prefix searches work ("coronary artery calcificati") but suffix searches do not. Fuzzy results match on the meaning and intent of your phrase rather than the exact words, and are sorted by relevance score. Hover over the Exact or Fuzzy badge on any row to see exactly why it matched.

Once it stops appearing, you're past the relevant zone. A top hit with a low score (~0.4) and a stretched explanation is a hint the closest predicates are far away — the project may be headed for De Novo. Note the fuzzy search is a pattern match: it doesn't handle negation ("not") well, and hardware devices can appear — filter by SaMD/AI ML to cut them.

7. Product codes and the regulations tree
Click a product code in the results to jump to it in the regulations tree — identification text, sibling product codes, and devices you can open in a PDF viewer on the right. Click a regulation number to see its identification, special controls, and related product codes. You can also search by product code or regulation number at the top of the tree. Always read the special controls if any exist for your device — it broadens your search and sharpens pre-kickoff research.

8. Chart view

9. The predicate graph
Open the Predicates tab for a family-tree view of predicate relationships. Click a node to trace its parents and children; selections from search carry over pre-selected. 10. Embeddings: the galaxy map
The Embeddings tab plots every matching document in a 2-D "galaxy map" where semantically similar devices cluster together. Hover or click clusters to explore, and let AI label the clusters for you. Embeddings beat product codes for grouping: two devices can carry different product codes (LLZ vs. QIH) yet do the same thing — the embedding captures the meaning of the intended use and device story. This is also exactly how retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) works under the hood, and it makes a great visual on client calls.
