Intended Use

Medical Diode Laser is intended to incision, ablation, vaporization, hemostasis and/or coagulation of soft tissue.

Device Story

Medical Diode Laser (M2) is a compact Class IV surgical laser system. It utilizes a 1940nm GaAlAs diode laser as the primary surgical beam source and a 650nm red diode for aiming. The device is operated by a clinician via an LCD touchscreen and a foot switch. It accepts external fiber delivery systems (400um or 600um diameter, SMA905 connectors) to deliver energy to the target soft tissue. The laser operates in continuous wave (CW) or pulsed modes (10ms–10s pulse width, up to 100Hz repetition rate) with power output up to 7.5W. The device is used for surgical procedures involving soft tissue incision, excision, ablation, vaporization, hemostasis, and coagulation. It provides the clinician with precise control over tissue interaction, facilitating surgical outcomes through thermal effects.

Clinical Evidence

No clinical or animal studies were performed. Substantial equivalence is supported by bench testing, including electrical safety (IEC 60601-1), electromagnetic compatibility (IEC 60601-1-2), laser safety (IEC 60825-1), and software verification and validation.

Technological Characteristics

1940nm GaAlAs diode laser; 650nm aiming beam. Power output up to 7.5W. Pulse modes: CW or 10ms–10s. Repetition rate: CW or up to 100Hz. Fiber delivery (SMA905). LCD touchscreen interface. Complies with IEC 60601-1:2020, IEC 60601-1-2:2014+A1:2020, IEC 60601-2-22:2019, and IEC 60825-1:2014. Class II device.
