Rx Indications: Under the supervision of a healthcare professional, ELECTROCYN soma is intended for the cleansing, irrigation, moistening, debridement and removal of foreign material and debris from exudating wounds, acute and chronic wounds including stage I-IV pressure ulcers, stasis ulcers, diabetic ulcers, post-surgical wounds, first- and second-degree burns, abrasions, minor irritations of the skin and diabetic foot ulcers. It is also intended for use to moisten and lubricate wound dressings and for use with devices intended to irrigate wounds. OTC Indications: ELECTROCYN soma is intended for OTC use in the management of skin abrasions, lacerations, minor irritations, cuts, and intact skin.

Device Story

ELECTROCYN soma is an aqueous wound wash and irrigation solution; contains 99.9% purified water and <0.1% hypochlorous acid, sodium hypochlorite, and sodium chloride. Produced via electrolysis of purified water and salt. HOCl acts as a preservative. Used for mechanical debridement, irrigation, and moistening of wounds; removes dead, damaged, and contaminated tissues. Packaged in HDPE bottles with spray mist or cap closure. Used in clinical settings under healthcare professional supervision or by patients for OTC management of minor skin conditions. Healthcare providers apply the solution to wounds or dressings to facilitate cleaning and debris removal; aids healing by maintaining a moist wound environment and removing foreign material.
