Device Story

Foundation DRS Solo is a sterile, highly conformable, porous wound dressing matrix composed of chitosan (derived from shellfish) and sodium chondroitin sulfate. Applied topically by clinicians to the wound surface, the biodegradable scaffold provides a moist environment and supports cellular infiltration and capillary growth as it degrades. The device may be replaced or left in place during the healing process. It is intended for use in clinical settings for various acute and chronic wound types. By providing a structural matrix for tissue regeneration, the device facilitates wound closure and healing.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Biocompatibility testing per ISO 10993-1 (cytotoxicity, sensitization, systemic toxicity, genotoxicity, implantation). Chemical characterization per ISO 10993-18. Sterilization validation per ISO 14937 and ISO 10993-7. Packaging validation per ISO 11607-1 and ASTM standards (D4169, F2096, F88). Performance testing included functionality testing on aged devices and a wound healing study in a porcine model. Viral inactivation data was leveraged from the predicate device.
