The Innova™ Nasal Non-Vented Mask is intended to be used as an accessory to CPAP/bi-level positive pressure systems containing exhalation valves. This product is indicated for use with CPAP/Bi-level systems that have adequate alarins for positive pressure delivery failure. The mask is ingle patient, multi-use in the home, hospital or institutional environment on adult patients (>30kg/66 lbs.).
Device Story
Innova Nasal Non-Vented Mask; patient interface for CPAP/bi-level positive pressure systems. Device provides seal over nose to deliver pressurized air from non-invasive ventilator; requires external exhalation port in circuit for CO2 flushing. Passive device; no active components. Used in home or hospital/institutional environments by adult patients. Healthcare provider selects mask; patient wears mask to receive prescribed therapy. Output is delivery of pressurized air to patient airway; improves patient compliance/therapy efficacy. Device features rigid shell, gel bladder, non-vented elbow, and headgear. Available in two sizes (Small/Medium, Medium/Large).
Clinical Evidence
Bench testing only. Testing included pressure drop, unintentional leak, internal volume/dead space, mechanical drop test, cleaning validation, and shelf-life (ASTM F1980:16). Biocompatibility evaluated per ISO 10993-1:2018, ISO 18562-1:2017, ISO 10993-5:2009, and ISO 10993-10:2010. Performance characteristics (dead space, resistance to flow, leak rates) compared to predicate.
Technological Characteristics
Passive nasal mask; rigid shell, gel bladder, non-vented elbow, headgear. Standard 22mm connection for ventilator circuits. Non-sterile. Biocompatible materials per ISO 10993/ISO 18562. Shelf life 5 years. No software or electronics.
Indications for Use
Indicated for adult patients (>30kg) requiring non-invasive positive airway pressure therapy via CPAP or bi-level systems equipped with exhalation valves and adequate alarms for pressure delivery failure.
Regulatory Classification
Identification
