Intended Use
The FlowTriever2 Catheter is indicated for: - The non-surgical removal of emboli and thrombi from peripheral blood vessels. - Injection, infusion, and/or aspiration of contrast media and other fluids into or from a blood vessel. Device Story
FlowTriever Retrieval/Aspiration System is a single-use, over-the-wire, catheter-based system for minimally invasive treatment of peripheral thromboemboli. System components include Triever Catheters (16, 20, 24 Fr) and FlowTriever2 Catheter. Procedure: FlowTriever2 is advanced through Triever Catheter to thrombus; self-expanding laser-cut nitinol disk is deployed to engage clot; device is retracted into Triever Catheter to capture thrombus; aspiration is performed via 60 cc VacLok vacuum syringe. Used in clinical settings by physicians. Proximal stop feature alerts user to deployment status. Benefits include effective thrombus removal with reduced risk of vessel damage via optimized single-disk geometry.

No clinical data. Substantial equivalence supported by bench testing (visual/dimensional inspection, guidewire compatibility, radial expansion/deployment/retraction forces, leak/vacuum tests, kink resistance, clot analog removal validation, simulated use, tensile/burst pressure, torque, corrosion resistance, particulate testing) and animal testing, all meeting predetermined acceptance criteria.
Technological Characteristics
Catheter-based system; materials include laser-cut nitinol (disk), Polyimide/braid/Polyimide-PTFE composite (inner shaft), and polycarbonate (Luer). Features single self-expanding disk geometry. Dimensions: 120 cm delivery catheter length. Manual operation via vacuum syringe aspiration. Non-patient contacting proximal stop feature. No software or electronic components.

We have reviewed your Section 510(k) premarket notification of intent to market the device referenced above and have determined the device is substantially equivalent (for the indications for use stated in the enclosure) to legally marketed predicate devices marketed in interstate commerce prior to May 28, 1976, the enactment date of the Medical Device Amendments, or to devices that have been reclassified in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (Act) that do not require approval of a premarket approval application (PMA). You may, therefore, market the device, subject to the general controls provisions of the Act. Although this letter refers to your product as a device, please be aware that some cleared products may instead be combination products. The 510(k) Premarket Notification Database located at https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cdrh/cfdocs/cfpmn/pmn.cfm identifies combination product submissions.
